School Council - Food bank collection

School Council Foodbank project

 Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to inform you that our school council are starting a project to help those in our community who are in need of food.

We have recently discovered, in one of our meetings, that many people rely on foodbanks.  Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks is donated by the public.  We would love our school to work together to donate food to this worthwhile cause.

You can help by donating any of the following items:

· rice (500gms or 1kg bags only)

· tinned vegetables

· cereal

· jam or peanut butter

· UHT milk (1 litre)

· tinned rice pudding

· tinned or packet soup

· instant mashed potato

· noodles

· toilet roll

· washing up liquid

· washing powder, gel or tablets

Just bring your donation to your child’s classroom and the school council will collect all the donations and, when there is enough, will contact a local foodbank to come and collect the items.

We think this is a really worthwhile project and would love all the help we can get.

 Yours sincerely,

 Harrington Hill School Council
