Welcome to Year 5 Home Learning Page
Dear parents and carers of Year 5 children,
First of all, I just wanted to say thank you for your continuous support to your children. The continuation of teaching and learning would not have been possible without your united collaboration and support.
I am here to help you! If you need my support please do email me: email@example.com
Week Commencing 29th June 2020
Hello Year 5!
Welcome to this week’s learning tasks!
Our learning will be based around a short film called, "Ride of Passage”.
Toki’s tribe expects him to bring home the head of the biggest animal he can find. In return, he will receive huge honour and respect amongst the elders. However, his mission does not go to plan. Instead - with the help of a colourful, new friend - he achieves something much greater.
This week we will be focusing on up-levelling our vocabulary and using words for effect.
Create a storyboard for the animation using the senses. What can you see, hear, smell, touch and taste?
Write a setting description for the rainforest.
Write a diary entry for a day in the life of Toki.
Retell the story of the animation, using up-levelled vocabulary.
Create a dialogue between Toki and the elders when they realise that he released the Chameleon. Remember to use the correct punctuation for speech.
Use these word mats to help you up-level your writing throughout this week.
Practise your spelling by playing this game.
In maths this week you are going to be practising your number skills. Complete the following from the Year 5 “Target Your Maths Book” online:
